Sensor Fusion and Substitution in Smart Environments

Problem: Smart environments are equipped with a variety of sensors to provide personalised comfort, home security monitoring or energy consumption management. In many cases, these sensor systems work independently, thus reducing their potential usefulness as health-monitoring tools.

Solution: The sensors that are already installed in a smart environment can provide useful information about health and wellbeing. In this project, we can make these sensors work together with better context-awareness and deep learning approaches. This will help maximize the information extracted from these sensors and even characterize new features.
